Hi folks! I created a directory that I will update over time as communities get built. If you would like me to add your city/town to the directory if you have created one, post on the Lemmy and I will add you in.
For some reason I can't figure out, I can't access your community from kbin. https://kbin.social/m/[email protected] is a 404, despite this working for other communities on the same server. I wonder if there could be a difference in length limit, since the name is so long?
At any rate, I created @Waterloo ([email protected], https://kbin.social/m/Waterloo) for the Waterloo region. Consistent with the Reddit sub of the same name, that includes the entire region. Kitchener and Waterloo are practically one city (as well as Cambridge to a slightly lesser degree).
Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I will create an alternative one on Kbin. For some reason the Canada Lemmy doesn't get along well with other instances.
For example I posted a post yesterday to Lemmy world through Lemmy.ca, and it had way more upvotes and comment on Kbin. They simply just were not visible on Lemmy.ca
