During the meeting between two leaders, the United States pledged at least three types of equipment to the Philippines, 2 of which are patrol boats.
So, the United States has provided more military support aside from EDCA sites with patrol boats being part of the deal aside from the additional C-130s that they also offer.
Since the namesake of the class is already with the PN, the transfer of the two (both of which are currently in Qatar) would be relatively seamless.
This piece also delved deeper into the shipbuilder itself, and the author's postulations coincide with the PH-JP-US cooperative framework of boosting the Philippines' capabilities (by extension there's also the SK-PH one).
As it stands though, South Korea is still the primary mover of new PN ships, while Japan is mostly on the PCG. The US is helping by immediate "addition" with the transfer of their older ships like in this case.
