My local Wincos had a self checkout, and only have 1 or 2 cashiers open. They used to have two security guards and three cashiers managing the self checkout, with a massive line of people all the way to the back. It was like that for two years.
Today, I visited and they took the whole thing down, while having 5 checkout lines open. No security guards.
Real pleasant experience.

I hope they don't do that at all locations. My inner former grocery worker is confident I can check out faster than anyone. And some days I just don't want the human interaction.
My major issue is that all the self checkouts have security up the wazoo because of how much theft occurs with self check out
Not at the three I go to out west. I'm guessing you're east of the river?
