OpenStreetMap is a map of the world, created by people like you and free to use under an open license.
I think now with the data available it's time the foss community can build something out of it.
Perhaps a bitcoin based uber alternative for the ultra brave.

Just curious - how do you contribute to this?
Is it something like you can just download the app and it can passively track you and determine things about available routes, times, etc., backed up also by satellite data...
Or would I be like "Oh let me put on here that there is construction near this subway station now that has blocked these exits and this road," etc...?
Actually I think they are now pulling data from Microsoft and Amazon and a few others. They started a alternative map project to Google maps. Like free data. Because Google is charging so much for their maps API.
I haven't got that much into it. But I might start playing with some mapping code.
