Sorry if this has been discussed here before, I‘m a new reddit refugee and I just stumbled over this community, awesome that this place already exists again!
I always enjoyed the discussion threads on the subreddit throughout a race weekend, so I was wondering if something similar will be done here? On the other hand, this community is still very small, so it may be a little overkill I guess.
Looking forward to following my first GP through Lemmy either way - I‘ll see you all on Friday
The plan is to make a weekend a race discussion, I am working on getting a bot running to automate the process but as we get things going it will be manual.
As for race spoilers in titles we have not made a decision, May need to get a community vote going. I living in west coast US also dislike the spoilers but try to remember folks are pretty excited about their team winning. Not sure how I would vote at this time. Please think about it yourselves.
On sync for reddit I used 'sports mode' to automatically refresh the race discussion thread, as a nice slow-chat next to the race stream. Is that possible on Lemmy?
That’s a great question. Is On Sync sports mode a Bot? I never watched the races live. I tried a quick search but the reddits talking about it are still dark (woohoo).
Bots on Lemmy are still fairly sparse. We are working on configuring one now for general moderation.
I see someone else responsed already but yeah, I meant Sync for Reddit, which has a function that refreshes the comments thread by new every 15 seconds so it's like a slow-chat. I like to have that side by side with the racestream
PLEASE enforce a no-spoiler in titles/images. There's so many of us that have to catch the race an hour or few after it airs, and it sucks to have the race spoiled just by impulsively opening our link aggregator of choice.
