  • AVIF test

    they should enable AVIF. it could cut down disk space by half

    • JXL test

      JXL file sizes are bigger for lower resolution images compared to AVIF iirc but still smaller than webp at least for this image.

      • AVIF, JXL, and WEBM(?) doesn't work for some apps. I'm using Liftoff right now and it doesn't work for Jerboa too. I might try a few more others.

        • ncdu shows postgres is at 500MB and pict-rs is at 250 lol

          AVIF wont save us. there's still a lot of space in the VPS and we can always offload the pics to s3
