That was apparently in 2020. Today's forecast high in Riyadh: 27° C, well above normal.
This is the problem with Mercator Projection. The snowfall happens in the western region, specifically in the northwest and southwest. Far from Riyadh.

Yes, they have become increasingly common in the past few years. It wasn't like this 5 or 10 years ago.
