Do you think a video tutorial for lemmy would be helpful

For users, not hosts. I usually don't like video tutorials, but I think I would have liked one for lemmy.

It would go through all the stuff, starting at the lemmy website, finding a fitting instance, creating an account, explaining user interface, listing common quirks, bugs and how to avoid some, creating posts, adding images & gallery and creating communities.

Is this a good idea? If it is, I would like to use this instance to create a new account, posts and a community for the tutorial.

  • I think thats a great idea! There are people who learn better through video, and for them it would be helpful. If you have experience recording such videos and are willing to do it, I'm down to help.

    • I have no experience in making tutorials, let alone video ones, but I am well-versed with video and editing. With most projects like this I would brute force it until it I like the result and I currently got the spare time to do so. The script could be reviewed and things suggested by people. The video would have a voice over, but I don't want to speak. TTS should work, but maybe someone wants to voice it. Publishing it on video platforms is also something someone could do for me.

      • Maybe theres a voiceover/video making sublem somewhere in here where someone could be interested to do it. TTS i feel would seem liw quality, but ive never done anything like this so i dont know

        • I had TTS like https://ttslabs.ai and https://azure.microsoft.com in mind. I think these are better than a lot of peoples voice overs. Anyhow I still don't know if enough people would want a tutorial and if I'll make it. @soeren and other admins (there is not pinging/tagging system anyway) would you even want that this instance is used for creating the video
