Pokérole is also a pretty good system to run a Pokémon Tabletop RPG with. It relies on a simplified system based on dice pools that still manages to approximate the experience of playing the games fairly closely without getting overly crunchy.
My longest campaign was actually a Mystery Dungeon one, but I didn't use the dungeon generation and ranking systems that they offer, I kept it more custom and narratively based. It worked fine, but I'd suggest to allow players to let players use their pokémon powers more flexibly, to offer a variety of useful items, and to give them the option to unlock more move slots, because the limited moveset was one of the greatest limitations, not only compared to other Pokémon systems but other TTRPGs in general.

I have a weird question I like adding realism to games. Would it be a good idea to add carry weight or leave that to the players if they want to. Or using pokemon trained templates I found online.
Its just a small grip I have with games
Personally I think carry weight only meaningfully contributes to the game if the players need to strictly keep track of supplies including gear, ammo, food and healing items for survival, but though this system gives you a reference of how much pokémon can lift, it doesn't tell you passive carrying capacities or even the weight of different items, or even how much they need to eat and how finding food should be handled, so it may not be the best system for that. You would have a lot of work to add that in.
On the flipside if you like realism, you might appreciate that they add a pain mechanic to emphasize how the pokémon are weakened as they get worn out by battle.
I don't understand what you mean by trained templates though. They give you some guides on how to easily create enemy encounters but I'm not sure if that's what you want.
OK I've been watching videos about realism in fantasy. Some feel like they are for larks but they have good info. So things like weapons armor weight, what would be good to use, and what to bring.
Since I've seen these videos I fell in a rabbit hole so things like that stay in the back of my head.
Back to pokemon, carry weight, food , and what they bring rarely gets brought up. Also you would need a lot of food for pokemon depending on size and team size everyday on your journey. I would like a pokemon survival game or something like it
It sounds pretty interesting, but don't know if anyone has been that thorough about that already. I don't remember even PTU going into how much pokémon eat and how to get it. The closest to that I've seen is in the Sword and Shield games that specify different curry portion sizes for each pokémon, and Legends Arceus showing what sort of ingredients each pokémon prefers. There are also fangames that focus on survival, but as far as TTRPG I wouldn't know what system to recommend.
Yeah I thought that would be the case but its fun to think about in different series. I mostly did it with skyrim and moved to Pokemon and other ttrpgs
