If you had $5000 to spend on yourself what would you spend it on? Not including bills nor can you give it away. Totally self indulgent. I'd go straight to the book shop, then the pub and then uber home with my books.
Years ago I did a huge trip from Melbourne to the tip top of Cape York, I'd add the 5k to my savings and do the whole trip over again. This time I'd stay longer in Cooktown, a town which I fell in love with on my trip.
I would get someone in to do housework for 3 days a week for 4 weeks. Then with the rest of the money pay for 2x driving lessons and some tafe courses. Will study and read on the 3 days off . The house will be pretty clean and tidy for months so work will be reduced and I'll be worry free . Can read and study .
It sounds good in theory, but it's not even real money and I'm paralysed with indecision about how to spend it I've already had second, third, and fourth thoughts 🤣
It's a tough call. We need a new fridge; the one I've got now is the same fridge we had before the kids came along (12 years ago!) and it's a good size for 2 people only. A blender would be nice instead of using the Nutribullet for everything. Also a proper mixer/beater. I'm long overdue for some new saucepans. I actually really need new couches for the lounge room as the old ones are so tatty looking and worn out, they're a disgrace 😔
Little bit at a time mate. I still have my second hand table that I've had for 25 years. My couches are 18 years old. Due for new ones too. I don't know what else to say other than I hope things get better for you.
Yeah I got a bit excited for a minute there! Just about all of my furniture is second hand or found on hard rubbish and spruced up a bit, and tbh I don't mind it too much. There's a very particular satisfaction to be had from furnishing your abode for bugger all money. New couches would be great for a change, but one advantage is not going mental at the kids for spilling something because the furniture is worn to start with. I can think about it more when they get older. May we both one day have new couches! Raises glass gesture
