In my years of IT, I saw a few customers do this. I always put the printers on WiFi so they could move the printer to wherever they wanted it.

2 0 ReplyYa, you have to be careful with printing over WiFi. Robust DNS and static IP's can help a lot.
1 0 ReplyFor sure. Plenty of times I've had to go power cycle a little desk printer just for it to work again. Oddly, commercial label printers (like TSC) have been surprisingly ok, even in large industrial shops.
