Radicalizing the apathetic

We should do a poll to see what ideology had the most peoples become maxist.
I propose that we do a poll to see what idiology current marxist come from. Doing so would allow us to form a somewhat empirical analysis of what idiology are the most likely to convert to marxism, witch would be usefull to know if we want to convert as much peoples as possible. Feel free to express your oppinion and propose other things you think we might want to know about non-marxist to marxist convertion and why.

My method
Whenever I talk to people who are apathetic to politics I always say "apathy is a political statement." I've found it to be pretty effective once I explain what I mean.
Apathy is a privileged view of the world. This is a somewhat extreme example, but if you are apathetic to politics while there are people living on the streets you are essentially saying "those people's lives don't matter. I don't care if they die, are harmed by police, etc."
This is how I converted my girlfriend actually. Good luck out there comrades. <3

The vulnerable and the deprogrammable
In my experience, the only people who are open to radicalization and aren't going to turn and run from a Marxist speaking about communism are people who are currently politically apathetic. When someone develops an interest in politics, they have a lot of questions that need to be answered.
This is why our rhetoric is so important and so valuable, we have to be the voices these people hear first when capitalism fails them. For me personally, my interest in politics began in my teenage years. Unfortunately, the rhetoric that found me first was fascist rhetoric, and it took years of deprogramming, reading literature, and having a Marxist family member be there to guide me to where I am now.
So, clearly it's possible to deprogram, but it's a personal choice someone has to make to want to be deprogrammed. Our efforts are better spent on those in our lives who have yet to develop their political identity.

Let's talk about radicalization!
I made this community because I wanted to discuss my experiences speaking about communist ideas in my personal life.
I haven't seen a community like this on Lemmygrad, I think it'll be nice to have a spot to talk about this very vital aspect of living in a capitalist society as a Marxist.
