World of Horror is one of the strangest experiences I’ve played this year. From developer panstasz, World of Horror markets itself as a combination of the works of Junji Ito, H.P. Lovecraft, and ’80s text-based adventures. I’m admittedly a fan of all of those things but very rarely are any of them pulled off with an inkling of success in modern gaming. So with an open mind I booted up World of Horror and was met with the most unexpected gaming experience.
Visually, World of Horror is a lot to take in. The game employs a 1 or 2-bit art style that instantly evokes feelings of booting up a game from a floppy disk. From here I was overwhelmed with menus upon menus upon more menus. Thankfully choosing the “normal” difficulty activates a brief but intuitive tutorial that walks you through every element of the user interface. Before I knew it, I was off to the races and falling deep into the World of Horror.

Observer: System Redux
Observer is a psychological horror video game developed by Bloober Team and published by Aspyr. Bloober Team's Observer: System Redux is an enhanced version of 2017's Observer, and it uses sci-fi and cyberpunk themes that are familiar to fans of works like Blade Runner or 1984. It's a compelling horror mystery in a disease-plagued dystopian future that's genuinely creepy, with the constantly building tension only interrupted by out-of-place stealth sequences that feel like they came from another game.

Black Salt Games' acclaimed fishing title doubles up as a descent into madness with cosmic horror and disturbing creatures.
Dredge, a fishing game with elements of Lovecraftian horror. You start with a fishing boat and explore an archipelago called The Marrows for catches. However, it becomes apparent that something sinister lies beneath that manifests after dark.
By selling fish, you unlock better equipment for sailing further and exploring the trenches. There are more than 125 different catches, various collectibles and quests to complete. The real hook (pun intended) is at night when strange fog rolls in and terrifying creatures come out to play.
How you’ll survive while retaining your sanity forms the basis of Dredge’s campaign. Over time, you’ll gain otherworldly abilities that provide an edge, though they may further strain your grip on reality.
