Any games with anarchist context? (I will settle with movie/book recommendations if there are none)
There are countless games that simulate worlds and societies with hierarchical structures (you are a god, you are a military leader, you are a business owner, you are a football club manager, etc). Are there any games that explore player agency within an anarchic context? I'm not asking for examples with mere absence of visible hierarchy (e.g. OpenSuspect) but rather simulations of explicit anarchist dynamics and horizontal structures.
I'm interested less in games that portray anarchy as an unstable state of social unrest (i.e. rioting), but rather as a stable state of being and living for human beings.

Valheim server for anarchist hackers or GNU/Linux activists
Hello we play 2-3 people on a server and we thought on maybe asking for more people to join that have similar conversation topics so we can have fun. If you are into libre software this is ok too… as of now we run the server on our side, but if we have more people we can put it on a vps 24/7.

Anyone else miss the good old days without downloadable content?
Does anyone else miss those good old days where you just bought a game once instead of continuously and forever?

Any free-software gamedevs around?
I don't have anything to do with gamedev, but i'm interested in playing free-software games. Are any of you actually building games following anarchist principles? :)

While not being anarchist per-se this is really interesting. Gaming never struck me as an inclusive hobby (besides some tactile games and/or controller design).

I know this is mainly a lib heartwarming story but I am just really happy that people with differently abled people can find escapism in them. Worth the 15 minute watch.
Does anyone know more about games which were made with people with various disabilities in mind?

About anarcho_gaming
Dear all, and welcome to c/anarcho_gaming!
We are a group of anarchists building a safe space to enjoy escapism in gaming together. This includes: Videogames, Boardgames and Pen and Paper RPGs and much more.
Our group defines itself as:
- LGBTQIA* inclusive
- anti-capitalistic
- anti-racist, -ableist, -sexist
We are open to welcome any anarchist or person that is interested in anarchistic forms of organization; we hold general plenary sessions on a monthly basis and share as much joy as we can with each other.
However we are currently still figuring some things out. While we already have over 40 people associating themselves with our group we do not yet have the infrastructure to allow people to randomly join - something we are however working on.
If you are interested in participating please reach out to the people mentioned at the end of the post here on lemmy; they will guide you through the process of joining anarcho-gaming.
This is not the way we want to do it in the future as it doesn't seem very anarchist, however we want to ensure that people which are already present feel comfortable with new people joining.
Thank you!

Question on discord ban
Hey,
a user on another leftie discord told me about this community here and I was interested so I decided to check out the Discord link in your sidebar.
After I joined, only two channels were visible and I decided to write a short greeting in one of them. A few hours later when I checked back I was met with the message that I was banned.
I don't really understand why I was banned and I just wanted to check out your community because it seemed like an interesting place. I did not join with any bad intentions. Could you tell me what I did wrong?
