When reading alt history do you care if the scenario is realistic?
For me it really depends
My favorite alternate history books are not even remotely in the realm of possibility but I still like a serious work every once in a while

Alternate history writing prompt
What if the space race was a tie?
Either both sides give up trying to go to the moon
Or both make it to the moon in a very close timeframe and have to deal with each other on the moon

What's the worst tropes in alt history?
Examples
The Axis win WW2(somehow) by making more of this or that
Historical figures act in ways completely outside of the way they acted in real life
-
What's some early examples of alternate history
I’m aware of what many say is the first (I talked about it in an old alternate history of the day post) but what are some other examples?

Any recommendations for a book or series with the Point of Divergence being the Loyalists winning the Revolutionary War?
I've read The Two Georges by Turtledove and Dreyfuss, I enjoyed that but I was thinking of something more along the lines of like his Southern Victory series in structure.

Alt history of the day April 1st
2021 Suez Canal Incident
March 23rd, 2021, Suez, Egypt. The ship that was ever given becomes stuck in the Suez Canal and takes over 6 days to unlodge, costing hundreds of billions of dollars in lost trade.
Divergence point.
Unlike in our time, on April 6, 2021, the United States authorized the use of a small nuclear bomb several miles from the site of the Suez Cana, and the ship was unlodged, but shortly after, many users on T-machines claimed the disappearance of the entire ever-given. Dozens of tugboats were used to unlodge the boat, a much less efficient process. The “Suez Crab” is never mentioned, leaving it to be assumed that the entity does not exist in this timeline. Nor is the 2021 Cairo Tower stampede a tragedy still remembered by the public today as a preventable tragedy. The April 19th stampede is not mentioned either, leading to this timeline’s events being much less deadly. It is also believed that in this timeline, at least one person did a double take and reread the Wikipedia article for the 2021 Suez Canal obstruction. Happy April fools day and thanks to Alex I mean MISTER MANTICORE’s video SUEZCANALCRAB for the idea.
